Short stories-Part 1 is the first part in a series of 10 and was exhibited at Galleri Syster in Luleå, Sweden in October 2008.
The storytelling is simple and narrative and in the first story that I exhibited at Galleri Syster the installation consisted of a 3d-animation and a flower. Both the animation and flower portrayed myself. The setting was done in a way so that the 3d-animation came to have a more powerful and hierarchical position in relation to the object. The dialogue that took place was about life and death, about exsistensional questions and loneliness. The 3d-animated person was consoling the flower that was losing it´s leaves. When a visitor entered the space they ended up standing in the middle of the installation and thereby also in the middle of the dialogue.
In the coming stories I want to involve the audience in a more active way so that they become the third part in the dialogue. By using a web camera I want to add a level of presence in the installations. The web camera will film the visitor and the image will be integrated in a projection that will change between the pre-filmed material and the real time filmed one. I will also add a speach recognition part in some of the coming stories so that the audience by speaking out words and sentences can change the stories in different ways depending on the words that are spoken.
