In the work OBSESSION I made a pink robot that was programmed to react on movement. When a person got in to the area of registration, the robot started to move towards this person for 5 seconds and then stopped.

The robot moved a bit slowly and had the size of a child, this made it´s appearance a bit helpless. Children could associate to a story-figure when they saw the robot, for adults it could meaby also give associations towards something sexual..

The work dealed with our need of an integrity; to have a safe distance between ourselves and those who approaches us. People in general want´s to control things that happends around them in their everyday life, especially in public spaces, and are not used to be interrupted in the way that the robot did.
